SHPE Cincinnati proudly supports the "Code for Kids" Initiative at Hays-Porter Elementary School:

As the first school in the Greater Cincinnati region, Hays-Porter Elementary School started today at 8am the official week of "Hour of Code": Dec. 7-13, 2015

According to School Principal, Ms. McClain, during that week all students in the school will participate in this first ever school-wide "Hour of Code" training.

Several of Hays-Porter students, who participated in After-School computer classes organized by Families Forwards , have been also invited by the Museum Center to be coaches for their "Hour of Code" outreach.

They will also be acting as coaches at the Regional Kickoff for "Hour of Code", taking place tonight at Taft Information Technology High School, 6pm-9pm.

SHPE Cincinnati was participating at the recent Hispanic Students Event at University of Cincinnati

It was also a great opportunity to welcome members of the SHPE Student Chapter being formed at University of Cincinnati. Demetri Bardis, a freshman at the UC College of Engineering, did a fantastic job in organizing this new chapter, and we would like to congratulate him on this.

Noche/Día de Ciencias - Science Nights – is a national program to promote knowledge and interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) among the Hispanic community.

This year, we'll celebrate the International Pi Day, which in 2015 is the "Ultimate Pi Day" because it will happen only once in a life time!!! It's a true "Pi Day of the Century"!!

We appreciate the support, help, and hospitality of the Cincinnati Museum Center in organizing this event, and the support from GE Aviation, Duke Energy, and Luxottica!!!

We also appreciate the support and help from RRight Now Communications, LLC
