2011 SHPE Cincinnati Election Results

Last week we've conducted the 2011 SHPE Cincinnati Elections.

 
The results are in and we are happy to present to you the 2011/2012 elected SHPE Cincinnati Board members:

PRESIDENT
Jorge Seda 

 
 

 

Jorge was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. He received a BSAE from Saint Louis University and a MSME from the University of Cincinnati. Jorge worked at GE Aviation for over 39 years and recently retired. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Ohio, teaches engine design courses at GE Aviation and holds fourteen patents.
Jorge co-founded GE Aviation’s Hispanic Forum (HF), served as Cincinnati Hub leader for two years and served as GE’s national HF community services leader for three years. Under his leadership, the Cincinnati Hispanic Forum received the Top Overall Hub ('04) & Best Retain/Develop ('05) Awards from GE CEO. In addition, he led the HF national community service initiative from 2006 through 2008 to a record 36,000 volunteer hours and was 1 of 32 GE inductees into GE’s HF Wall of Fame.


VP Professional Development & Corporate Affairs 
Maria Esquibel-King

 

Born in Las Vegas New Mexico and oldest of 10 siblings. She attended University of New Mexico (BS in Civil/Environ Engineering) and University of Cincinnati (MS in Chemical Engineering). She has worked with GE for 10 yrs and have had various roles including Community Service Leader for the GE Cincinnati Hispanic Forum. Led a professional development networking event in 2009 that brought together over 100+ Hispanic professionals in the Cincinnati area. She is currently the Sourcing Compliance Leader.


VP Community Affairs & Student Relations 
Vanessa Diaz

 

Vanessa Diaz is currently a Senior IT Analyst for Johnson & Johnson. She received a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Texas El Paso and continued on to receive a B.S. in Computer Science at Neumont University in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the founder of the Society of Women Engineers Student Chapter at Neumont University. Vanessa has helped to revive the Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Achievement Professional Chapter at Ethicon Endo-Surgery, currently serves as the Co-Chair, and continues to work hard on various committees and task forces, both as a team member and team leader.


Treasurer
Oscar Martinez

 

Oscar was born in Cuba and raised in Nicaragua. He received a BS in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Business from Southern Polytechnic State University located in Atlanta, Georgia. Oscar currently works for AdancePierre Foods as an Industrial Engineer/ Packaging Specialist. 
Oscar joined the SHPE family in 2008 as a student member, during the past three years; He has being part of the student board in his University, Sub-RSR for the Georgia Region and part of the SHPE Atlanta Professional Chapter in Georgia. Among other things, he is currently a leader in other organization such as Give Back Cincinnati and the Latin American Association in Atlanta, Georgia.


Administrative Officer
Carlos Bello

 
 

 

Born & raise in Colombia, he received a BSChE and a MSChE from USF. Active member of SHPE Chapter through college. He was recruited by P&G in 2008 at the SHPE conference in Phoenix, AR. He is currently a technical engineer for the Oral Care Business Unit at P&G.
